1.1. O Encontro de Matemática Aplicada e Computacional – ERMAC da Regional 8 será realizado entre os dias 28 e 30 de agosto de 2024 na Universidade Federal do ABC em Santo André.
1.2. A 43ª edição do Congresso Nacional de Matemática Aplicada e Computacional – CNMAC será realizada entre os dias 16 e 20 de setembro de 2024 no Centro de Convenções do Armação Resort – Porto de Galinhas – PE, com organização da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco – UFPE.
Seguem abaixo pontos importantes que devem ser observados dando sequência à organização dos participantes no evento:

EVENTOS
2.1. O Congresso Latino-Americano e do Caribe de Matemática é um evento de destaque na comunidade matemática da América Latina, Caribe e além.
Realizado a cada quatro anos, o congresso reúne matemáticos, pesquisadores, professores e estudantes de diferentes países e regiões, proporcionando um ambiente favorável para a troca de conhecimentos, ideias e avanços recentes no campo da matemática. Durante o congresso, são realizadas palestras, mesas-redondas, sessões de apresentação de trabalhos científicos e workshops, abordando uma ampla gama de tópicos matemáticos, desde teoria pura até suas aplicações práticas em diversas áreas, como física, engenharia, ciência da computação e economia.
Além de promover a disseminação do conhecimento matemático, o congresso também desempenha um papel crucial no fortalecimento das colaborações entre matemáticos latino-americanos/Caribenhos e a comunidade internacional, incentivando a cooperação acadêmica e a formação de redes de pesquisa.
O histórico do evento conta com seis edições, a saber: Rio de Janeiro – Brasil (2000), Cancun – México (2004), Santiago – Chile (2009), Córdoba – Argentina (2012), Barranquilla – Colômbia (2016), Montevidéu – Uruguai (2021, Online).
A sétima edição terá como sede a cidade de João Pessoa – Brasil, ocorrerá de 26 a 30 de agosto de 2024 e será organizado pelo Departamento de Matemática da Universidade Federal da Paraíba – UFPB.

2.4. O I Workshop da SBM de Mulheres na Matemática será realizado entre os dias 02 e 04 de outubro de 2024, na Universidade Estadual de Maringá.
Este é um evento nacional em comemoração aos 80 anos da professora e pesquisadora Keti Tenenblat.
O workshop contará com a participação de mulheres que atuam na docência e na pesquisa em Matemática em todas as regiões do Brasil e em todos os níveis de ensino.
O objetivo do evento é promover a discussão sobre gênero e a representatividade feminina na Matemática brasileira. Além disso, buscamos apoiar a disseminação da produção científica e tecnológica no país, bem como fortalecer a cooperação científico-acadêmica por meio de sessões temáticas, oficinas e minicursos.
O evento também contará com atividades do Encontro do Programa de Mentoria da SBM e da SBF (Sociedade Brasileira de Física).

2.9. Estão abertas as inscrições para submissão de trabalhos para 3ª Conferência Internacional de Matemática Aplicada e Simulação Digital – AMDS 2024 (International Conference on Applied Mathematics and Digital Simulation), a ser realizado nos dias 30 e 31 de dezembro de 2024, em Beijing, China.
As atividades serão coordenadas pelo pesquisador Jiang Zhu do Laboratório Nacional de Computação Científica. A conferência será uma oportunidade para os pesquisadores conhecerem e discutirem as soluções mais recentes, resultados científicos e métodos para resolver problemas intrigantes nas áreas de matemática e computação.

3.2. Postdoctoral Position 2024-2025 at CMM-Digital Health
The Center for Mathematical Modeling (CMM) of the University of Chile invites applications for one postdoctoral position in Digital Health and related subjects. CMM is one of the leading mathematical research institutions in Latin America, developing both theoretical and applied lines of research.

Ideal candidates should show outstanding potential and have interests aligned with the Digital Health line of research at CMM. In particular, candidates active in or willing to work on the following topics are encouraged to apply:
- Mathematical modeling applied to health management
- Biostatistical analysis of different health problems
- Development of predictive models using machine learning and related techniques
- Epidemiology
Additionally, it is important that the candidate has knowledge of programming languages such as Python and/or R.
The position is available for individuals who expect to obtain a PhD by the date of the appointment or are within the first five years after obtaining their PhD (with exceptions for maternity leave and other special circumstances). Spanish language skills are not required.
The duration of the position is one year, renewable for up to one additional year. The starting date is flexible, but preferably no later than March 2025. The position is in a research capacity and does not carry teaching responsibilities (although teaching opportunities may be available), and is held at the CMM’s base at the University of Chile, located in Santiago. The gross monthly salary is $2,000,000 CLP. Basic support for research activity is provided, including travel expenses. Additionally, selected candidates can apply for government funding programs that offer further support, including travel grants and extensions of the postdoctoral period for up to two additional years.

3.4. Mathematics Visiting Fellowships
The ICTP Mathematics Section offers every year a number of grants for short-term visits. The purpose of the visits is to perform research in Mathematics and in close interaction with the Section’s resident staff and visiting scientists. Short-term visits may be for a maximum period of 3 months.
Scientists from developing countries are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to requests for visits outside the summer period.
A short research plan for the expected visit at ICTP should also be added and at least one letter of recommendation is required for junior scientists, postdocs and graduate students. The letter is to be sent online separately by the referees after submission of the application.
